The Gallery Coordinator provides overall management and direction of the Arts Consortium
Gallery. As such, the Gallery Coordinator will implement the existing exhibition schedule, then
develop and oversee an ongoing schedule of integrated, multi-disciplinary and diverse arts
gallery exhibits and related activities.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-time position: 15 hours a week, $12 per hour, 4 days a week,
with seasonal increases in hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CURATING OF EXHIBITS
Coordinate all communications with artists, galleries & other community arts organizations.
Works closely with Marketing Coordinator and volunteers.
Develop and schedule programmatic and promotional materials:
Posters, trolley maps, price lists, labels, press releases, articles, postcards, media coverage and
Develop, prepare and coordinate:
Year-round gallery programming (First Friday)
Collection, preparation, and takedown of art pieces for exhibition
Reception for monthly exhibits
Guidelines and selection criteria for exhibits
Requests for proposals, and calls to artists
Gallery agreements and release forms
Outsource necessary tasks that support the various exhibit projects
Follows appropriate curatorial and safety guidelines
Additional support service as assigned by the General Manager (i.e. Annual preview show -
Taste The Arts and Biennial preview show - South Valley Artists Studio Tour)
Submit monthly, midyear and annual reports on attendance and business participation statistics
Attend Membership meetings
Provides monthly and annual gallery budget
Solicits in-kind donations (e.g. food, hospitality, prizes)
Solicits new venues
Adheres to Arts Consortium personnel policies and procedures
Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent public speaking skills for delivering presentations to groups of people
Promotes a positive environment for staff and clients by modeling a professional attitude

Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Able to contribute creatively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Must be extremely organized and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and
evenings as needed (Taste The Arts, South Valley Artists Studio Tour, etc.)
Candidate must demonstrate a deep understanding of Fine Arts, Arts History, and/or other
Knowledge of museum or humanities organizations
Knowledge of artistic and cultural instructional programs
Understanding of audience development (surveying)
Proven experience in event and program planning
Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Photoshop
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver’s license
